  1. All lineage irrepective of eye colour originates from our primal and primitive ancestry going back many millions[possibly billions] of years ago. Green and brown eyes are stronger in colour than blue/grey. and all colour has been adapted through the enviornmental habitats that our bacterial decendants evolved from in an ever changing process of adaptive evolution. All life evolved from a primitive soup which we now call the sea.To understand these processes, we need to be familiar with biology and genetics. But think of a balloon? Blow it up and see the shape and size of it change because oxegen and carbonmonoxide have been introduced into the balloons membrane. It is no longer a flacid piece of shaped processed rubber, is it? This is how all forms of living life adapt by consequence of chemical interference. All species from the humble amobea to the giant giraffe are subject to evolutionary change as our planet changes through global warming or any natural catrastrophe. Just as there are children still born with little tails[and we all have a redundant one called a cocyix]. This evidence is simply a genetic throwback from our primate ancestry. Green eyes are the natural colours of eg; alligators & crockadiles who are testament to early sea life, just as africans brown eyes and skin evolved from earlier primates to blend in with their enviornments in the jungles. White europeans adapted from brown eyes and black skin to blend in with their new enviornments when some continents split and diverted land to the Aisan peninsulas. So we adapted to a colder climate which is refered to as the Ice Age.Just like the polar bear and artic fox whose coats are snow white to blend into the artic ice. So there is a reason for everything even if we don't understand things. But science is our champion and the navigator of our lives. Be glad, that we have evolved in the way that we did.

  2. Good question. I don't know the answer ... but I've often thought it odd that I've never known anyone from the previous generation (to mine) who had green eyes. Mine have been green since first I noticed them ... my daughter and two of my nieces had blue eyes until they were teenagers, when they started changing to green. (Neither of my parents, of different ethnic backgrounds, and none of their many brothers and sisters had green eyes .....)

  3. So do I have green eyes and i love 'em lol

only 2% of the world population is green-eyed :D

BTW answering your question, i think that irish and mediterranian people (italian specially) are the most green eyed people, in fact, im italian descendant

  4. No, eye colour does not have anything to do with race.

Like many human characteristics, eye colour is determined at least partially by genetics. This is where your parents' characteristics are passed onto you and your siblings via your genes.

As with most genes, people have two copies of the gene controlling eye-colour (one from each parent). You only need one copy turned 'on' to make enough melanin to have brown eyes. Obviously the same applies to your parents, so a brown-eyed parent could have one or two 'on' copies, but a blue-eyed one must have two 'off' genes.

So, if your father has brown eyes, he might have both genes turned 'on', or just one. If he gives you an 'on' copy then you will have brown eyes, whatever colour eyes your mother has. The same applies to your mother. If she gives you an 'on' copy then your eyes will be brown. If you get an 'on' copy from each parent then your children's eyes will be brown too. You can still get blue-eyes from two brown-eyed parents, but only if they both have one 'on' and one 'off' copy and they both give their 'off' copy to you. If this were the case, you should have three brown-eyed siblings for every blue-eyed one (although you would need a lot a brothers and sisters to test this).

Edit : my father had blue eyes, my mother brown, my sister green and I have hazel. I have at least an 750 year history in England.  Eye colour has nothing to do with race and almost everything to do with genetics.

Green eyes are the product of moderate amounts of melanin. Only 1-2% of the world's population has green eyes and it is the least common eye color. Green eyes are most often found among people of Northern and Southern European origin. Countries with a high percentage of green eyes are Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands.

       I hope this helps     =D

P.S. About 20% of the Hungarian population have green eyes!
