  1. CO2?

  2. Marshes, intestinal gases from animals, autos, trucks, factories, electricity power production, loss of plants that can convert the material to O2, etc.

  3. The above answers are partly correct.  But water vapor is the most common greenhouse gas.  Two things are frequently confused.

Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing, mostly caused by water vapor.  The "water cycle" keeps water vapor in balance, and it's strong.

Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels and creating carbon dioxide. That causes the delicate "carbon cycle" balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming.

  4. Greenhouse Gases come from the burning of fossil fuels such as oil and coal that are then released into the atmosphere and allows the suns heat in but not out leading to the problems we now face with Global Warming.

  5. Greenhouses (building made out of glass that is used to grow plants out of season)
