i found a receipe in a magazine for lip gloss, and the recipe calls for the following: honey, vitiman E oil, flavored oil, almond paste, bee's wax, cocoa butter, and food color. i have all of them but the food color and almond paste. i can easily get the food color, but i dont know where to find the almond paste. i live in a town 1/2 hr from downtown Seattle, called Normandy Park. 2 mins from burien and des moines. there's a QFC (quality food centers) and a Safeway near by, but i couldnt find it at QFC. any where else???

  1. usually you find almond paste in the baking aile in the regular supermarket.

  2. Any major grocery store chain will carry it, in the baking aisle.  Usually near the "add-ins", like chocolate chips, nuts, coconut, etc....

  3. You should be able to find it at your local grocery store... It is also known as Marzipan. (Almond paste & sugar)

If they don't have it, go to a manager and as if it can be special ordered for you. They are usually happy to order something for a customer.

  4. A grocery store in the baking supplies aisle should have your almond paste.  If not there, then ask the grocery staff where to find it.  If you can find a baking supplies specialty store in your area, they should have it also.

  5. Go to www.fondantsource.com and you can order it.

  6. You could always make it...
