Where do i find the passphrase or WEP for netgear?

ive read its on the back of the router but i dont know which one it is theres alot of numbers there and i cant typer 192.168.0 in my adress because im on a limited account which number is the the WEP or passphrase

    It wouldn't be on the router because the software generate a random WEP for you to secure your router. You would have recieved it when setting up your router with the software.


  2. Usually the passcode is on the back of the router with WEP or WAP next to it, if not you will need to set up a wep or wap key within your router.

    If its a new router you will need to connect first time using ethernet then set up your router then once you have done that go back to wireless.

  3. hi, if you mean where is your WEP, depends on your router , try 192.168.1.1 or 10.1.1.1, if it's correct it asks you for a username and password, for both type admin then you get in to your router setting. Find wireless and then wireless setting and security. put your passphrase for WEP and save and reboot. however it's better to get the WPA which is more secure.

  4. Try WPA instead.  WEP's source code is available to everyone.  That is why WPA is better.  With WPA, all you do is enter in a simple password.  You then have to enter this into your computer before it talks to the router.
