Where do i get a free credit report?

I've searched, and I found out you can supposedly get one here:

http://offto.net/freecreditreportnow/

Is this for real? Can you really get a free credit report here?

I'd appreciate if anyone who has used this service let us know... or if someone can check to see if you really get a free credit report.

Thanks

  1. the following will really give you a free credit report, no strings:

  2. If you want to see your credit report AND credit score, you can do it for free on this site.

  3. Try going through your state.  I know in the state where I live, you are allowed one free credit report from all three credit reporting agencies once a year.  Go to your state's website to find out if they offer this.  This way you can have a report from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to compare all three and make sure that they are all reporting the same information and correct information

If that doesn't work, then try freecreditreport.com.  I've used them once.  They make you sign up for a credit monitoring service before you can see your report.  The service is free for the first few days, but you can cancel it without any penalty (during the free trial period) and still keep your credit report free of charge.  The downside to this is you only get one report.  I think it was from Experian

If all else fails, then just buy your report.  Last year I was able to get a 3-in-1 credit report from Equifax for about $30.   It showed a side-by-side comparison of all of my reports from all three credit agencies. And to add my credit score it only cost $9.95. It also provided lots of helpful information to help me better understand my credit standing and what I could do to improve my rating.

  4. annualcreditreport.com

This gives you a free credit repot once a year. If you want your FICO score that will cost extra but the report is free.
