  1. Simpson makes galvanized straps (with pre-drilled holes) available at Home Depot, Lowes and White Cap. They come in various lengths and thicknesses. The higher gauge numbers are the thinner material, with 20ga being the thinnest.

    There's a chart shown here: http://www.strongtie.com/products/connec...

They also make a coiled strap available as thin as 22ga and up to 300' in length:

  2. I have seen these same aluminum pieces in different widths at Lowes and Home Depot.

  3. Check Home Depot, you might need to ask in the building materials department.

Depending on how thick you need the strips, you can cut your own (for a lot cheaper) from roof flashing.  I think they're called "Handyman Rolls" and are available at Home Depot.

  4. Menards, Home Depot, Lowes, etc... whatever building store is in your area.

  5. I just see this stuff at my hardware store maybe it"s not the same?

  6. it's standard strap aluminum, sometimes called barstock.  Most hardware stores carry it, some craft stores do as well.  If you're needing lots of it, you may want to call a sheet metal shop and have them either order you bulk barstock (whatever thickness and width you want), or a full 4x8 sheet of aluminum (or stainless steel if your frisky) at the desired thickness, and have them cut it to width.  Getting it from a sheet metal shop also gives you the option of length, meaning you can get 0-8 feet.  The last time I ordered plate aluminum it was about 30$ per 1/8" sheet (white a while ago).  If you have have them cut it for you they will charge you a shop fee, but you will be able to get 32 running feet of stock, most likely much less cost than buying that much at the hardware store in 3 foot sections out of the stock rack.
