  1. To fill out a FAFSA you would go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ You will need a pin number for yourself so you would want to go here to apply for one if you do not have one. http://www.pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex...

You can have the pin sent to your email, or your home. I would personally have it sent to my home... but people are all different.

  2. FAFSA intro info , how to apply, worksheets, what to do, PIN registration, and other stuff:

  3. Hi-

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/  Fill it out online to save time.

  4. Complete the application on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Filling out the application on line will get it processed within a week, while doing the paper application will take 4-6 weeks.

  5. www.fafsa.gov

By filling out the FAFSA, you put your hat in the ring for federal grants, federal loans and even state grants (if you apply before the deadline). You will need:

Your tax information for the previous year.

Your parents tax info for the previous year (if you are under 24 years of age)

Other personal info like your social security number, address, etc.

It takes about 30-60 minutes to fill out but if you have your tax info handy, it'll go quickly.

You will need to do this every year. If you do an initial one, you only have to complete the renewal one every year updating financial information. Depending on what state you are from, there are state deadlines for state grants so check it out. If you are attending Columbia, the information will be sent to them and they could come up with their own financial aid package. You need to get on this asap for this fall. Also, contact Columbia's financial aid office, make an appointment and discuss your financial aid opportunities with them.

    Good Luck!
