Try the marine forecast feature of the Weather Underground site. (Yes, it's unrelated to the terrorist/revolutionary group from the 60s and 70s!)

For the northern part of the Jersey shoreline:

Note: the temperatures it shows are the sea surface temperatures. It might be colder 20 or 40 feet down.

just watch the news, they tell you when they do the weather.. the jersry shore water right now is like 60 i think but im not positive.
