Where do i ground an amp on a 2000 ford f150?

i'm getting a system this week and i need to know where to ground my amp?

  1. You need to ground your amp any where you can find bare metal that will lead back to your batteries ground. If mounting behind the seats the best bet would be where the seats mount to the floor. Shorter the better. Also a good idea would be to run your power wire down one side of the truck and your RCA wires down the other side, this way you wont pick up any interferance.


  2. Find a good area of the vehicles Metal near your amplifier installation location and scrape a small patch bare to the bone.

    Once the paint is removed, use a sheet metal self tapping s***w and a star washer to ground your amp to the bare metal.

    DO NOT GROUND YOUR AMP TO EXISTING BOLTS IN THE TRUCK.

    I see this junk all the time and the bolts in most vehicles offer little or no "True" ground refrence.

    Scrape - s***w - Ground.
