Where do i het a minor's work permit for home-schooled students and information about it?

im home-schooled and have been offered an internship.....where do i get a working permit for minors and what are the rules and regulations? thanks a bunch <3

p.s. this is for the state of illinois.....in chicago? if there is a difference

  1. I was 14 when I started working for my mother and I had to go the School Board and get a workers permit. When we got it we asked the rules and they were something like &quot;A minor under 16 can&#039;t work in between the hours of 10-7 and not during school only from like 4-7 and only 3 hours a day and 18 hours a week and i think that it longer on weekends and on days without school.

    That is just about all i know cus that was a long time ago and i am 16 now. I live in Louisiana so i don&#039;t know the rules where you live. OH and the fact that you are home schooled does not mean that you can work during the day cus we asked about that and they said that it still applied to me. So well I hope you do good with your internship and that I helped alot

  2. We have to go to the board of education for the work permit. My nephew just got his first job and that&#039;s where they went to get it. Call the school board in your area and they can tell you for sure. Good Luck with your internship.
