  1. if you want to have total control of the amp, the best way is by using a switch with on/off and wire it to the ignition switch on your fuse box.

    this will ONLY turn on when the vehicle is on. if the switch is left on and you turn the car off... the switch will automatically have no current. so this will keep you safe. plus, if you want to turn off the subs anytime, u can just turn off the switch. this is good when driving by where you live so people wont know you have a system and want to steal it.

    what you will need is a long wire that goes from the fuse box all the way to where your amplifier is. wire shouldnt be too think... should be about as thick as the cables behind the stereo. you will wire it to the fuse for the ignition / acc, and remember to add a small fuse to the new wire you will be running.... a "5 amps" is good enough to keep things safe incase something goes wrong some day.

    and just place the switch where ever you desire.

    this way is also better if a use is runing multiple amplifiers.
