Question:

Where do i stand with Sky?

My sky tv stopped working properly due to poor signal quality. I had to pay sky £65 for an engineer to come out to fix it. But when he came out he said that we cannot get reception due to the trees on the street and that moving the dish will not make a difference. (we never had a problem for the last 2 years of living here).

So now I am going to have to cancel my sky contract. They are meant to be adding this £65 engineer charge to my bill. But am I within my rights to refuse to pay it the £65 as he did not do anything to help?

  1. I remeber when i first got sky, they said when the dish was installed that i'll get a poor signal, due too trees blocking the signal.

Eventually due to bad weather, wind and rain, my sky dish moved and an engineer came out to fix the problem.

He did manage it and moved the dish, but i can't remember paying or not.

    i've had no problems since>

So i really don't know the answer.

Question it with sky and ask them because you originally recieved sky you should still get it.

It also might depend on how fast the trees have grown and can you chop them down a little if their on your ground?

  2. My parents had the same problem their system stopped working due to the trees having grown and also leaves coming out in the spring(true).....They then said moving the dish might not make any difference but went ahead and had it moved slightly and now it works fine.....
