  1. There are several functions, divided between CREW and STAFF. Crew are bartenders, waiters, cabin crew, etc.

Staff are Receptionists, gift shop personnel, shore ex, photo, Spa and some others

Staff´s status and accommodations on-board is a lot better

To work on the gift shops, the best way is through one of two major concessions.

    www.hardingbros.co.uk

    or http://www.starboardcruise.com/

Hardin gs is British, Starboard american.

Hardings has a better work environment, better salaries, and bigger discount. Also its easier to enter.

Go to the site, send your CV, they´ll contact you if they want further info and will set up a phone interview.

    Its very easy.

Remember, the advantage of working for the shops is:

While in port, shops don't open, so you don't work.

If you have an overnight, no work.

You work a bit hard on Sea days.

To work on reception you should contact the cruise lines directly. Shore ex as well.

Photo/Salon/Casino and the shops are all concessions (in most cases).

You will need a basic sea survival course and a proper medical, but they´ll inform all that.

Also, working for a concession you have the advantage of working for several different cruise lines, so you change a lot, go all over.

Not stuck doing one single destination.

If I can be of any more help contact me...

  2. GO to the websites of the cruiselines and look for a link for "employment opportunities" or similar words...then go from there.   I am sure they get thousands of inquiries and may not answer promptly, but you have to see what is available and how they want to be contacted or have applications submitted.  See site below...look at the blueline along the bottom of the page...see the words"fun jobs"?  Click on that...this is what I mean.  Every cruise line should have a similar spot.  To find cruise lines...just enter those words in the search bar.  Happy research and good luck.
