  1. Just about any where cool and dark.  Underside of leafs.  Tree bark.  Under your deck.  Sometimes when I walk high grassy areas surrounding my pond I stir them up.  Some species are active during the day.  You just need to be in their habitat.  Like any damp area that is shaded, wet woods, marshes and swamps.


  2. Most usually hide out in a cool area, hidden away from potential predators. You will find them in grass, in foliage, or sometimes if there is no cover you can find them on the sides of walls. But beware as there are several species that are active during THE DAY. A notable example would be the very aggressive tiger mosquito which will fly during the early mornings and evenings while there is still day light. It bites (or stabs which is more appropriate) and feeds very quickly and hides amongst the grasses in which it lives.

  3. They rest, most often in bushes or other foliage
