  2. In my house, they come out of my woolies drawer ......

  3. Moths like butterflies come from a larvae, then pupa then adulthood. They usually consume detritus and various forms of dead materials as larvae. So their purpose is basically a decomposer. Adults often have a very short lifespan and may not eat anything and die shortly after mating or laying eggs. If you have moths in your closet. You may be best off setting off a bug bomb first, but to keep them out of your closet the best thing is cedar, they don't like the odor, but we find it pleasant. Other than cedar, there are other products out there, including moth balls (but they will make everything smell like moth balls).

    I hope it helps!! :)

  4. The idea of a "moth" as an actual species is slightly misleading. There are no moths in their own right; I mean, moths are not born as moths.

Butterflies originate as caterpillars. Once they become butterflies they must find a partner and mate within 3-4 days. Having mated, they lose their bright colours and live for another 1-2 days as "moths" before they finally die.

The creatures we know as "moths" are just old butterflies. The type of moth depends on the type of butterfly.

The word moth comes from the Latin word "Mothinus" which means "faded being".

  5. my mates wallet.

  6. just like butterflies, moths come from some weird kind of catipillar!

  8. my mot comes from walkinstown.

  9. An invasive species can come from any country in the world. A species not native to one part of the United States may be transported to another part by human activities or natural causes. If this species is able to become established at the new location, there may not be other species present that are able to control its population, thus it becomes a pest species.

There are 165,000 known species of butterflies and moths in the Order Lepidoptera

Butterfly and moth wings are made of thin layers of chitin--the same hardened protein that makes up their outside body--and are covered with thousands of tiny scales that lend color to the wings.  The wings are strengthened by a system of veins. The wings have to be strong enough to support the body in the air, but still flexible enough for flight movements.

Butterflies and moths are found during the warmer months of the year in many different environments. In most places, May to August are the best months, and you will do well looking in sunny exposed places with low plants.

Some moths hide under large leaves, some crawl down into dense leaves or under rocks, and some just sit head down on grass stems or bushes
