when kids dont go to school, do they send them into daycare, I havent seen too many kids at the school bus getting dropped off to daycare, most go home, But most parents work until 5:00 so for those two hours, and for the summer time, where do kids stay, do they stay home alone?

  1. You would be surprised at the number of people who actually leave their children home alone. it is astonishing.  However some may have sitters that come over and are at the house when the children get home. I would never leave my kid home alone unless he was old enough of course. some children also go to camps and stuff.

  2. My neice and nephew gets watched by my family member during summer time and school year. Me Istay home mom.. I have neighbor kids are home alone during the day when their parents are gone. Their dad or mom comes home little bit to check on them and leave again. I know of them be starting middle school soon.

  3. My aunt comes over and babysits the kids during the summer.  She also babysits my 11 month old the rest of the year while my husband and I work.

  4. They go to camps: the at YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, family member, parents take vacations. Most Parks and Rec have stuff going on too.

  5. Technically I don't 'leave' them anywhere.  Daddy drops the toddler off at preschool and my 2nd grader goes to a school based program (the same program for before school/after school care).  I get to pick them up!

  6. alot of our parents here in western ky send their kids to the local library where they can be supervised... there are so many kids that they provide lunch, story hours and have video games and computers for them to play on ... it is all free and the parents arent out a dime... the library here opens at 9am and closes at 9pm so the parents work their schedule around these hours...

  7. This question seems to be too open. What age are you speaking of?

My fiance's 6 year old will start 1st grade next school year. Obviously, she is not old enough to stay home alone because she wouldn't know how to take care of herself. She goes to an after school program designed for the summer time and for school age kids. We drop her off by 8am and pick her up by 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Weekends of course she is home with us. During the school year she goes to the same after school care.

If we go out and have an adult evening she stays with an adult family member. If there isnt one to watch her, we don't go out.

I know not every family is like this out there but this is what we do.

  8. Some do stay at home alone, but often they have an older sibling or relative they stay with like a grandparent. You may not see kids get dropped off at a daycare because a daycare center usually provides its own transportation. I work at a daycare and we have over 15 school-aged children attending this year.

  9. I stay home alone (I'm 15 and can look after myself), but I know that younger kids have a babysitter / nanny or have a relative look after them.
