Where do "sand & clam" worms live or grow ?

Near and below the mean low water mark.In the N.Eastern part of USA & CANADA they are grown/harvested for fishing bait. These are two seperated species ,sand worms grow to 6" length,while the clam worm "looking" just like a sandworm grows to 38" in length, longest I ever harvested was 28" cold.a A clam worm may durring winter months be out far from mean low water mark. They live in underwatergrounds where they tunnel. etc They grow from LongIsand NY to NovaSco....
