  1. When I worked in radio as a Music Director we got music form two places. The 1st where the Radio Discs RH series which had everything form pop to hip hop. We also get MP3's form labels as well to play.


  2. It is provided to them by the record companies.

  3. Some stations have to pay a price, but they get it directly from the band itself. Occasionaly the band might pay them to play their songs and promote their music. They give them a CD with the song on it and the radio station puts it on the air.

  4. If they had brains they'd just buy them. But, most accept promo copies from the labels, artists, management and some self-publishing companies (that are mostly not very effective).

  5. Radio stations get their music sent to them directly from the record companies months before they are released to the public.  Alot of bands will send their music in as well to try and get airtime.
