Where do regular hornets live?

I want to know where they live because I have to write a paper on my school mascot and my teacher told me to search it on http://www.yahoo.com, but every thing on the search talkes about a team.

if your talking about the "bugs" they live in buro's in the ground...kinda like tunnels.
