I know they have their secret recipes and so forth, but for meats and their special chips and what not, do they get them right out of the Pick N' Save? LOL for real

  1. they raid the dumpsters behind other restaurants. where did you think they got their food?

  2. Restaurants order from wholesalers like SYSCO, Maines and MBM. The big chains usually commit to ordering huge amounts of basic items to get better prices which is why you and I pay ridiculous prices in the grocery stores for things like hamburger, steak and chicken wings.

  3. Some restaurants actually have their own "farms".  That way everything can be monitored to certain standards.  Like grain fed cattle/pork.  I know where I work we import of Salmon from Brazil (gets flown in every 2 days and NEVER frozen) and pineapples imported in from Costa Rica.

  4. They order directly from wholesalers/warehouses.

  5. Well, most use wholesaler and specialty sellers.  Commonly used companies are Sysco and Ben E. Keith that deliver the goods to the restauarant.  I've never heard of Pick N Save.  If things are really busy or something wasn't ordered, usually people are sent to a nearby grocery store/Wal-mart to get needed products.  For a small mom & pop restaurant, Sam's and Costco are a usual supplier for items (not delivered).

  6. wholesalers

  7. I work at Pick N Save, & we sell a lot to restaurants.
