Where do said 'psychics' supposedly get there powers?

Every one is born with psychic abilities.Some already have stronger abilities than other people.The more you practice you psychic ability the better it becomes.Some people seem to be better at certain psychic abilities than other abilities.They find what ability they are good at and stick to that.I am good with telepathy and chairvoyance but not with telekinesis or precognition.

No, absolutely no theories at all, if you're asking in a scientific sense. In a mystical sense, I'm sure there are thousands of "theories" depending on the mystic you ask. Hey, here's one -- a faerie flew into the nursery and sprinkled a baby with faerie dust. Poof, a psychic!  It's very easy to come up with theories if you don't have to be scientific about it.

if you are a true psyichic you are born with innate abilities. Usually you do not control them, although you have a sixth sense about things, and also can tell how people are feeling.

As a medium,. I don't concider it a power but an ability I was born with. The same as a painter or a dancer or a healer-I suppose the same question then, would apply to them as well-Where does one get the gift that Picaso has?

Although we may all attempt at drawing or painting, we all seem to have varying degrees of talent in the area-Some can draw great sceneries while others are restricted to funny stick-men figures.

Psychic ability is somewhat the same. Everyone can tap into their ability and intuition, but not every person will develope the ability to the furthest degree.

I believe all abilities come from the creator, and everyone is blessed with at least one gift-whether it is psychic ability, communication skills, generosity (Mother Teresa!!), activism(someone who makes  a good change in this world), a painter, a doctor, or a genious in math...whatever it is-everyone has one.

Everyone possesses psychic abilities, whether they admit it or not. What makes the difference between somebody realizing this - or not - is their reaction. Some people feel "the call" while others choose to bury their head in the sand and contend that any "powers" a psychic might have are imaginary or outright deception.

What they fail to acknowledge is that somebody who is a true psychic - clairvoyant or clairaudient for example - spends considerable time developing their abilities. It takes a LOT of work. Mediums have been considered as "being psychic" and yet many of them rely heavily on a main message guide to assist them.

You ask where do they "supposedly" get their powers...I don't know any practicing, ethical psychic that would consider their gift a power.

Isn't the answer obvious? Where do any natural gifts come from?

If you asked about how they obtain their information, I would be a bit more sympathetic in my explanation.

They are supposedly born with the latent gift which manifests itself at puberty.

In reality some people have personalities which make them more persuasive then others. These people learn that they can manipulate others very easily, and convince people that they are psychic. With a little research on cold-reading techniques, these people can become very convincing psychics.

Not to be daft, but they apparently get them out of thin air.  Some will say we're all born with abilities--some more than others.  I disagree.

I've only meditated a couple of times in my life, which when I do, the things I randomly experience seem to intensify and occur more frequently. There is a very vivid familiar mental feel to it, like an emotional tug.
