  1. Sea shells are made by marine snails.  They produce a calcareous shell for protection.  As they grow, they lay down more shell.  When the snail dies, then the empty shell is left and is often washed up on shore by waves.

    The different types of shells you find are made by different species of snails.

  3. seashells are just rock things in the ocean i do not know how they form ,however i do know that the way they get on the ocean is because they strength of the wave has such force that they are pulled up onto the beach
