Where do serial killers get thier resources from?

i've noticed that a lot of serial killers have, for example, vats of acid in their basement or other such strange resources. Where can you get these things from without setting off some warning bells somewhere. Not that i need them, i'm just curious.

obviously they are resourceful but alot of these "things" are readily attainable

wierd that you would ask that, maybe walmart or home depot, i bet you could by acid there, they probably sell it to get rid of waste or something. why do you ask? lol
