  1. As long as I can remember they have always been known as The Demons or the Dees for short.

  2. well.. They are a team from Melbourne...So thats where the Melbourne part comes from..

Demons.. Well how boring would it be without a little mascot??

  3. The word Melboure is the city they came from. Demons came from Bloods but they did not wan't that name so they thought of Demons.

  4. The Bloods were South Melbourne. Originally Melbourne were known as the Invincible Whites, due to their relationship with the Melbourne Cricket Club. Then the Fuchsias (a type of flower), which was obviously a bit on the weak side. The change to the Demons was made by ‘Checker’ Hughes when he was appointed coach in 1933, after a couple of very ordinary seasons by the club. At the time, the guernseys were a very dark blue with a red v collar.

  5. I think it comes from the red on their uniforms, or maybe someone said that they played like demons when they saw how hard they played.

  6. i don't know but i love the dees! i live in north queensland but they are my team. i am glad they are in with a chance at a top four finish

  7. They made a pact with the ultimate Demon, Belezubub back in 1931, and decided to sell their souls and call themselves the Melbourne Demons in exchange for fame and glory and having an idiot ask a question about them 60 years later. :-)

  8. Their jersey was designed before their name..I guess resembling what a demon might wear.
