Where do the parade floats for Disney World come from?

It seems like they come from nowhere! Especially the Spectromagic parade floats!

  1. There is lots of "backstage" areas all around the Magic Kingdom (all of the theme parks, actually), that you can't see.

    However, check out this overhead view -- I've focused in on where the floats are stored:

    Now that's the Frontierland section of the parade route (sometimes the parade starts there, sometimes it ends there).

    Regardless, Disney does a great job of disguising their backstage areas.

    If you get the chance, take the "Keys to the Kingdom Tour", it's an awesome behind-the-scenes tour, that takes you to the spot shown on the map, as well as the underground tunnels (utilidors) and other Cast Member-only areas.
