Where do the south siders in Dublin get their roiiiiiiiiiiiiiighty accent from?

some are actually so bad they either sound english or american, like hello! its obviously put on, or is there something in the air that side of the city that makes em sound so ridiculous?

South side accents, you  mean posh south side accents. What about Ballyfermot,Tallaght, Crumlin, Driminagh, Clondalkin-Neilstown etc etc. Im a south sider and cant stand it either.

I used to live in Galway and everyone would be askin where bouts in the north side ya from???

Ever hear the term "west-brits" thats what they are, but its funny as their mommies and daddies may be from the back **** of now where in kerry fro example, they make their fortune in Dublin, have kids, put them in nice schools, and thats where this manky speech impediment starts!

p.s I m increasingly hearing this manky speech impediment outside dublin, from girls in particular from Galway and Wexford. If its genetic the countries fooked cos in 50 years no-one will sound irish, we'll all sound like psuedo-american-brits, jaysus!

o my god! its such a ridiculous accent! im from cork and i have to say that all those D4s irritate the h**l outa me! too posh for my liking, and any d4-head ive met has been so nastily s****. and stuck up, except for one, and thats no exaggeration..... i dont think its the money that makes them tlk like that, its their uncontrollably huge egos!

I used to teach in the south side of Dublin, that accent would drive you to drink as a lack of intellegence is a side effect of talking that way(example being if anyone outside tha pale is speaking to them their default accent locator asks their brain to ask "are you from Kerry?".

Also they suffer from a serious affliction called AQS, more commonly know as austrailian question syndrome, this disease is spreading and results in normal people speaking like they are asking a question ? like all the time?. Listen out for the inflection or slight raising of the voice like a bad home and away character.

I've said it before and I will say it again - Dublin is the most English city in Ireland! It has the accent, the buildings, the atmosphere, despite being the political capital of the Republic of Ireland!

Give me Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford or Kilkenny any day.

I know it's so annoying I work in town and do have a lot of the dubes heads coming in and out. It's completely put on but they sound like total toss pots!!!!!!
