"In the early 1960s, he and guitarist Keith Richards formed the Rolling Stones, and as lead singer Jagger went on to become one of rock 'n' roll's most famous frontmen..."

Yea, nice article, except the Stones were formed by BRIAN JONES. Jagger and Richards were invited to join. It was Jones' band. Whoever wrote this article should be ashamed of themselves for

A. Not doing any research, and

B. Writing an article about a band he/she obviously knows nothing about. You've made a fool of yourself.

The article doesn't even mention Jones. Pathetic.

  1. Must be from the coconut trees.

    Luke 8.5-8,10-17

    What do you think?

  2. They aren't any better when they write about the economy....

    or the military....

    or NASA....

    or the Law....

    or politics....

or anything else for that matter.

  3. It doesn't seem to be that really far off after reading wiki and other articles. Since Jones's existing band became Rolling Stone only after Richards and Jagger have joined. Although Jones's name was left out It is Jones, Richards, Jagger and Chapman who formed the 'Rolling Stone'. So I think its missing some details, but it's true that Richards and Jagger were part of formation of the Rolling Stones which originated from Blues, Inc.

I think technically what she says is true since Jones's band became Rolling Stone as Richards and Jagger joined Blues Inc. See what I mean? It's not and wasn't Rolling Stone without Richards & Jagger. She just didn't mention Jones because she didn't know about him or didn't think she needed to mention it for some reason. Or she really didn't do research, but got lucky and didn't make huge mistake.

And I read that Jones died in 1969. Not that long after they formed Rolling Stone. This article is really about Jagger getting old doesn't seem to be about history of the band, but I guess it's fair criticism to say the article is missing little details.

  4. These prlly not music journalists, just writers on yahoo

    who needed to cover it

but if they are, they need a history class or something
