Since the Concorde is now out of service, where are they kept. Like a museum or are they at a aircraft dump yard in the middle of the US rusting away?

  1. You can find them in a museum.

  2. The last one which flew is at the Museum of Flight. Boeing Field, Seattle, Washington (State)

  3. There's one at Charles De Gaulle airport. you can see it parked near the terminal as you drive to the airport. looks good, but smaller than i imagined.

  4. One is at the Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport, Virginia.

  5. There are about 18 in various locations in the US, UK and France for display.

1 was used for spare parts, and another was destroyed in a crash.

  6. They're all in museums around the world.  Most were already promised to various museums even before they went out of service like the one that the Smithsonian got from Air France.

At this web site about halfway down is a list of all the aircraft produced (20) and where they ended up.  I've seen them on the ground at Charles De Gaul and they looked tiny among all the large wide body aircraft.  So few were built for the $12 billion invested in research and development that they are surely all practically worth their weight in gold.

  7. One of original prototypes has been at the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton in Somerset since the flight testing ended.  Am I the only one who thinks it odd that the USA has one on display after the antics of the then government all but killed any chance of commercial success by their introduction of draconian flight restrictions (were they jealous?)

  8. In addition to the sites mentioned, there is one on display at Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris, France. Thankfully, not many of them are rusting around as other aircraft.

  9. Airbus UK, Filton Bristol

    · Manchester Airport

    · Museum of Flight, near Edinburgh

    · Heathrow Airport

    · The Museum of Flight, Seattle, US

    · The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, New York, US

    · Grantley Adams Airport, Bridgetown, Barbados
