Where do they sell American Girl dolls?

Question

My niece is into American Girl and I have made several trips to the American Girl store in NYC to buy her clothes for her doll. Her birthday is coming up and I am not going to NYC, so I won't be able to go to the AG store. Are there any department stores or toy stores that sell the clothing and accessories for the dolls other than the original stores or website?

I live in the Washington DC area.

they have a magazine that has almost every american girl doll item and you just order it. It is very easy. I hope i helped!

You can go to American Girl.com and order stuff.  Also try Barnes and Noble.  They have the books and mini dolls of each girl.  The dolls only run about $20.

Unfortunately no, they only sell through their own stores or the website.  But don't be afraid of buying online.  Service is excellent.  I ordered something through their webpage and three days later, it arrived.  And that was without expedited shipping of any kind.  Packaging was also way beyond what some companies use.  My item came in a huge box.  Inside was another heavy carton that most stores would use as their shipping carton.  Needless to say, there was nothing wrong with my item.

Hope is always there that this will change.  Only a couple of years ago, there were just 3 AG stores.  Now there are 5 and all are in major metropolitan areas.  So you may see one in the Baltimore-Washington area one day.  I realize that doesn't solve your immediate problem though and I hope you'll be able to work it out.

It sucks but the only place to buy these dolls are online at their site or in their store. You can check Craigslist.com, maybe someone is selling their old clothes or something in the Washington D.C area? Good luck!

They do not sell them in any Department stores but you can order from the catalog. You can get one right to your door!

Other than the catalog, check at Goodwill, in  their toy department (they may or may not have AG stuff). Or look on eBay!

At American Girl stores. The only one I know is in New York.

You can also order from their catalog or online. Go to www.AmericanGirl.com and they should have an order form somewhere.

the magazine is the only thing i can think of. there is a american girl in chicago, and la but i don't know how close you are to those

The American Girl Stores are located in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. They also have a free magazine in the paper. Or just go on www.americangirl.com.
