  1. you'll probably start having difficulty getting even the common 16/40 lead solder any more. Due to its toxicity, most company's are slowly phasing it out in favour of the silver solder. The difference is that silver solder requires more heat to solder properly.

  2. You may have a problem getting this in a form that suits. 70/30 Solder alloy is used for coating or pre-tinning before soldering. That means it is usually supplied as sticks which are then melted into the wave soldering machines.

If you can use it this way, you may be able to approach a pc-board factory and buy a small quantity. or try a metals supplier:

If you want flux cored wire best to try a solder making company.

  3. any hardware store, or radio shack. Only used for electronics now though.  For plumbing you need lead free. Careful not to get the acid core stuff.

  4. I imagine that is going to be hard to find (I guess that is why you are asking here) what form do you need it in? if you are using it in a solder pot, it might be easier to make it yourself, perhaps add a bit of lead free (which will be nearly all tin) or pure tin,  to the easier to get 60/40 (or 63/37) but if you need wire it might be a problem

I cheeked all the places where I would normal go for solder and they didn't have it, even an internet search was not very useful, sorry.
