  1. Most everyone I know is getting a lot of wedding stuff off of www.theknot.com.  I know a lot of upper-middle-class yuppie types who are getting married this year, and The Knot seems to be where most of them are getting their wedding favors, bridesmaid gifts, etc.  Also, Things Remembered seems to be a popular choice for things like engraved guestbooks, etc.

Personally I think it's silly- after all, you can find really nice guestbooks at Wal-Mart or Target, but some people are sort of snobbish about those stores.

  2. Smythson, Harrods, Selfridges................

  3. Pottery Barn..

  4. JC Pennys has nice stuff.I dont know about Macys.I dont really shop there. But girl, you cant go wrong with Walmart ot Target or dollar stores.I'm a penny pincher and even though we got money,I am cheap with it.You can buy stuff at these stores and make the wedding look just as nice. But if you dont, than their is Hallmark,Invitations by Dawn.com,Party Boutique stores,Dilliards.etc.

  6. same place other ppl buy wedding stuff..i dont think there are separate stores for upper middle, high class or low class ppl....everyone wants a nice wedding

  7. Bahahaha please tell me this is a real question?

There's no Middle Class Wedding Store.

  8. Anywhere and everywhere. It's not like someone can look at a guestbook or decorations and be like, oh, those are some great upper middle class decorations. Look for quality, not the store they're at or price. Martha Stewart, who is about as upper middle class as a BMW Sedan just started a wedding line for WalMart. Happy shopping.

  9. yes, macys and dillards have wedding registries

  10. Really, you can buy it from anywhere.  It's not so much the name, as it is the look.  I agree that a lot of people say "The Knot"   But, there are tons of websites that offer all kinds of wedding stuff.   If you are upper middle class, you know what's good quality vs. what's cheap.  So, you should be looking at how things are made, the materials, the colors, the designs; rather than the prices.

Go to theknot.com and start there for ideas.

  11. what exactly are you trying to find? gifts for the bride and groom? or decorations for the wedding.

I consider my fiance and I upper middle class, and we shopped everywhere. we both were on the hunt for things that we wanted and liked, then came together to show what we found. I shopped at places such as The Williamsburg Pottery Factory (a huge warehouse of pottery items) and David's Bridal. I didn't buy items that were too expensive nor looked cheap.

    So, you can shop anywhere.

  12. As long as you love it I don't think it really matters...you could find wine glasses at the dollar store and a silk covered guest book on a trip to Europe...unless you are going to sit and chit chat about the price it's not going to really matter.  But if you need to just run out and get it done Hallmark might be a good place to start.

  13. Well, socio-economics isn't the issue.  Some people splurge and some don't and it doesn't matter how much money they have.  It sounds like you're looking for quality and a more high-end look to your wedding.

The difference between those splurging on a wedding and those trying to save for a wedding is the amount of DIY that goes into it.  No matter what you spend, most items for a wedding are pretty but they are not made to last.

If you find a good wedding planner with an eye for color and design, you can achieve a high-end look with inexpensive items. So, start with a planner and see examples of their work.

The Knot does have nice items.  For favors, Kate Aspen has very high-end-looking ones.  Below are links to The Knot and Wedding Favors Store Online (a Kate Aspen retailer).

    Good Luck!
