Question:

Where do vegetarians eat out at?

I'm not a vegetarian or anything but I've always wondered, if they ever ate out, where would they go? I mean, would they go to a burger place with their friends that aren't vegetarians but only order something that didn't involve meat(like fries) or would they not support it at all?

  1. I can go any place that I want to - doesn't mean that I am going to eat all that is on the menu.  I make wise choices.

Sandwich shops - always a good place to go.  Just have them make you a sandwich with all the fixings on top - and no meat or cheese.

Italian restaurants usually always have a pasta dish that doesn't have any type of animal products in them - I get an artichoke and angel hair pasta tossed in olive oil - one of my favorites.  Love the capers and olives and all that is within it.

Oriental food - I go to places where I know the menus and how things are made.  There is a tofu soup that I like to get at this one place that I go to.

Mexican food - tad difficult where I live.  The closer to the southern border one gets, the more likely they are to make it 'authentic' - which means they are using lard and other things in the making.  I am not a big fan of Mexican food anyway.

I think you get the point that I am making.  Just have to read and know what you your eating.

I have no problem going to burger joints with people.  Going doesn't mean that I am going to be eating there.  There are times that I really am not hungry and I just go to sit and talk with friends and drink my glass of tea or cup of coffee.

  2. I'm a vegetarian nd where i live theres a veggie & vegan cafe so i go there once in a while or other times i just get fries or a salad or whatever.  Some places do do veggie meals but not always.

  3. When a vegetarian goes to a burger place they can get the burger made with everything but the meat...or some places offer boca burgers like Red Robin.

They can eat pizza, egg salad subs, salads, and fries at sub shops.

They can eat stir fry, the fruit and yogurt plate, fries, or breakfast items at Bob evans.

They can get vegetable stir fry, tofu, and sweet and sour soup at Chinese restuarants.

The possibilities are pretty endless.  Most places will help you find something that they can have...like a dish- the meat.

  4. California, U.S.

  5. Often it depends on why they are vegetarian. I personally don't agree with fast food places but if my friends really want it I'll go with them and eat fries if I'm hungry. If the person is vegetarian for an ethical reason then they probably won't eat at those places, but if it's for a health reason then they probably won't mind.

And I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't have a vegetarian option. Everybody told me I'd have trouble finding food in the Carolinas but they serve salads and veggie burgers and pasta and everything.

  6. I suppose they probably would go for the more healthier places, and skip most if not all fast food.

A place with a good size salad bar,and a variety of soups, and things that can be altered (meat taken off).

    panera bread

    qdoba

    o'charleys

  7. If I eat out, I always push for Indian food!

There are a great range of Indian dishes which are exciting and meat free, but plenty of meaty curries and rice dishes for the carnivores!

As I rule, I avoid veggie restaurants unless all of my dinner companions are vegetarian. Even though most of my meat eating friends eat lots of meat free meals, stepping through the door of a vegetarian restaurant turns them into crazy meat-snobs who declare everything vegetarian "hippy-ish" or "weird"

  8. I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian (meaning I eat eggs and dairy) and

I just went to Olive garden yesterday and had awesome cheese ravioli with marinara sauce.

Most steak resturants have atleast one salad with not chicken on it.

For fast food Taco Bell's 7 layer burito doesn't have meat.

Subway has a veggie delite and it is like a cold cut but it doesn't have meat just cheese.

Applebees has a ceasor salad. You could also order an appetizer as your meal.

Arby's has some salads, patatos and french fries are cook in a different fryer than meat and also the cheese do not contain animal rennet.

Burger King had salads and their fries are vegetarian. Selected Burger Kings have veggie burgers.

ChiChi's cheese sause is vegetarian so are the nachos.

The mexican ice cream contains eggs

Cracker barrow has a country vegetable plate (it's basically a a meal that you get to pick 4 sides from)

There are more that I don't feel like listing

  9. hey frn..dnt u knw..der r many restaurnts which serve vegetarian food..der r countries lyk nepal..wch r purely veg..

  10. The issue is not where they eat, but what they eat.

BTW, don't end a sentence with a preposition!

  11. took my brother to subway and i got a veggie patty, cheese, veggies

  12. I usually go to Asian resturaunts. I can always find steamed vegetbles over rice, tofu dishes (Kim Son has the BEST!), or vegetable soup on their menus. So almost any asian resturaunt, minus the buffets, are almost always a safe bet.
