Question:

Where do we stay the night before the cruise?

We're flying in to the Miami airport a day early for our cruise leaving out of the Port of Miami. What's a good hotel that isn't highly expensive and might even help us with transportation either to the Port, or just to and from the airport to catch a shuttle? We might even like the idea of a hotel right there close to the Port...

  1. YOU HAVE SEVERAL CHOICES BUT THE PORT IS DOWNTOWN AND THERE ARE NOT TO MANY HOTELS THAT ARE GOOD AND NOT EXPENSIVE.  BUT TRY THE MARRIOTT OR THE INTERCONTINENTAL SOMETIMES THEY HAVE SPECIALS

ANOTHER THING YOU COULD TRY IS TO STAY AT THE AIRPORT HOTEL AND THEN GET TRANSPORT FROM THERE.  GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN

  2. Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then "East Coast Departures" for info from experienced cruisers about where to stay in Miami.

You might also want to look at TripAdvisor.com for comments from past guests on all the hotels.

  3. I would go to numerous travel sites. We stayed at the Days Inn on South Beach. It was a nice hotel, and it was on the beach. I would say go to a travel site and select the area, the price range, and then shuttle service. Then it tells you what hotels. Taxis are a pain in the cruise port, and shuttles are so much more easier. Stay at a nice hotel like Embassy, Hilton, Ramada, Hyatt, etc. Those usually have shuttle service and are right near the port, most of the time, and are usually nice. Good luck.

  4. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard in downtown. It was $120 -Spring Break 08. They offer shuttle, $5 pp. We took our own taxi, $9.80 +tip. It is the one on NW 2nd street, I think. It is nothing fancy, but wil do for the night. We walked to the Bayside Market for dinner. There's a CVS 3 minutes away for last minute stuff.
