Question:

Where do you buy a wok?

I live in a town in Ontario, and I'm not sure where to buy a wok. I checked the yellowpages, but all the wok places are restaurants.

Also, I'm going to go with a flat-bottom carbon steel wok that isn't non-stick. Most sites agree that's good.

How much will I pay for a brand new wok?

  1. Bed, Bath & Beyond

  2. The best place to buy a wok is from an oriental store or china town with all the gagets that come with it. it also has to be seasoned if it's not non stick.

  3. If you have access to a Chinatown, go there!  You will get alot of variety and good prices.  I also suggest going to a local restaurant supply store, they too will have a large variety with good prices.

I agree, flat bottom/carbon steel is the best!  Non-stick is nice cause you use less oil and can make healthier stir frys.

  4. BB&B would be your best bet, but if you dont have one, try a walmart or target

  5. WALMART,TARGET,

  6. I am not sure if your town has a Chinatown.  I am not sure if Tornoto has a Chinatown and if so, how far you are from there.

Here in San Francisco's Chinatown, we have a great little shop that specializes in Woks.  They have many different sizes and types.  Perhaps, if there is a Chinatown in Tornoto, you might check there.  They may have a similar type of shop.

  7. amazon.com

  8. any store that sells pots and pans. bed, bath, and beyond, target, walmart, linens and things, department store that sell kitchen stuff. a good wok will cost you at least $30-40 (american) dollars and up.
