Where do you get a map that shows Speed Limits?

I got a speeding ticket for going 54 in a 45. I was actually doing 60 but he says he was giving me a break. Anyway, after I drove off I passed a sign that said "REDUCED SPEED AHEAD" then past that was a "45 MPH" sign. I was like WHAT? So I turned around. The stretch I was in for about 8 miles was 55 the entire time! Now I have to go to court and I need to show the judge the speed limit on that road. The officer made a mistake. I'm not mad at him but I am surely not going to pay the ticket

  1. You should do  two things:

    1.  take a picture of the LAST speed limit sign on the road before the point at which you were pulled over, and show it to the judge,

    2.  call city hall (or the state, if it's a freeway) and ask for a copy of the speed limit statute and/or a table showing the limits.  They may send you to the traffic engineering department to get it.
