  1. Sometimes kennels take pets their owners can't keep anymore so you micht want to chack there.

  2. Newspapers usually have "free to good home" things.

    And shelters dont always have free pets, but some can come pretty cheap. Like some cats can be around $30 but in other places, theyre hundreds.

  3. nothing is free but addopting is usually cheaper

  4. Even if you get a free pet, taking care of him/her for his/her entire life will not be free.

    Vet bills, supplies, food, etc...

    I suggest going to an animal shelter if you're getting a new pet! :)

    Good luck! :)

  5. try

    http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/

    people are always giving away free pets.

  6. check in your local newspaper in the classifieds. people are always giving away pets!

  7. Adoption centers are getting too expensive the one here charges like $50-$80 for a cat! I highly recommend looking on Craig's List. They have a lot of people on there looking to give pets away to a good home & they post pictures and everything, plus you can search by County. My Husband & I have had great luck on this website with everything from animals to furniture. They also have pet ads for people who are selling their pets so be sure you are in the "Free" section. Good luck finding your new pet!

  8. you could try looking in the newspaper. i always see puppies n kittens for free. or even grown ones. ppl jus wanna find good homes. good luck!

  9. usually adoptions centers have a fee. But not all do. Look in your local newspaper they always have ads in them.

  10. Newspapers often have listings of pets being given away. Most towns have some sort of animal shelter, and they are always happy to find a pet a good home.

  11. Animal shelters. While they aren't free (and I'm always hearing people complain about how "expensive" shelters are), they ARE cheaper than a "free to good home" pet, as everything is included in the adoption price, but at a MUCH lower cost than what it would cost for you to pay for all this yourself.

    For example, this is what comes with adopting a cat or dog from my local animal shelter I adopted my Rat Terrier mix from:

        * Sterilization

        * First Vaccination

        * Micro-chipping

        * Deworming and Flea control (Revolution or Advantage)

        * City of Hamilton Pet Licence (1 year)

        * PetLynx package

        * 6 weeks free Pet Plan Insurance

    What does the cat adoption fee include?

    The cat adoption fee includes the following:

        * Sterilization

        * First Vaccination

        * Micro-chipping

        * Deworming

        * Flea control (Revolution or Advantage)

        * PetLynx package

        * 6 to 8 weeks free Pet Plan Insurance

    Again, these are all expensive things for anyone to have done themselves, something to consider. :) You may also be saving a life, too.

  12. I agree with Sneezy.  Lol.  You really should adopt from an animal shelter, and sometimes they will give them away for free.  You could check out www.petfinder.com to look at pets in your area, and if you find a pet and go to the shelter's website, it will most likely tell you if there's an adoption fee or not, and how much it is.  Some adoption fees are really cheap though, and are worth it.  =]

    Pets are not free though, since you have to buy their supplies, vet bills, food, etc.  And make sure your ready and commited to take care of a pet before getting one.  And also that you *can* take care of it.  Like that you have enough money & stuff.

    :)
