Where do you get the minnows to sale for a bait shop?

i am thinking about opening a bait shop. i cant find a distibutor or any one that sales minnows in my area. im in north texas_

also how much can it cost to get started?

I heard that opening a bait shop can cost upwards of $50,000. But I'm sure it can be done for much less, you'll need to research what is right for you.

As far as minnows goes, you can catch your own by various methods, or if your busy you might be able to find local fishermen to supply you...Be sure you understand the state and local laws regarding buying and selling bait and bait fish before you buy from just anyone though.

well the permit can cost 50$-250$! but you can get the minnows by throwing a cast net and catching them...that might also get you some other bait to like crawdad. or you can build a minnow trap....but you might have to build more than one. (if you don't know how to build one just e-mail me!) or you can call your local fish department and ask them. hope i helped you out!
