  1. Unfortunately, there isn't a simple answer for that question as employers use many different methods to attract qualified employees. Knowing that, if there is a specific factory you have in mind - check out their website. Many allow you to apply on-line.

Next thing to try is to contact the factory and ask how to apply for a position with them. Be prepared for the "we are not taking applications at this time" response. I suggest you thank them for that information and ask what their process is to apply when they are hiring. You may also learn that they contract with a 'temp' agency and you have to go through them first to start work with that employer. Signing up with temp agencies is another option to begin work, but there are many things to consider prior to signing up with one...

You can also contact your nearest "One Stop Career Center" (locate yours here - http://www.servicelocator.org/) and find out about employers in your region, how to apply with them and they can even give you hints, tips and tricks on filling out an application, how to interview and possibly you will find that the employer you want to work for takes applications directly through the Career Center.

The Career Center should also have the capacity to help you learn about career options given your restrictions. They call it Career Exploration.

Lastly, you could also contact your Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. They have resources to assist you find employment or further education/training given any medical restrictions that you might have.

Don't just go for the factory job without looking at all of your options, not that factory jobs aren't great or that you may chose that career in the end - but explore all of the options available to you. Especially given our economy and the fact that most of our factory type jobs are being outsourced overseas.

Good luck to you in your job hunt!
