Well, the horses don't really have levels, but I can tell you a bit about how to get their skill points up. When you are on their page, you have several options. Training, riding and competing in events all give your horse a higher skill amount. Most people tend to get all the training out of the way before doing anything else. (Then again, you can't do training or comps right away, so if you do anything at that point it has to be rides.) I normally try to get all the rides out of the way, then comps, and then train last. I have gotten more comp wins this way, which causes your BLUP to go up. (By the way, BLUP is the measure of how far along your horse is in fulfilling its genetic potential.) But, you can do it in any order you wish. Remember to do both your lessons every day. They will give you a nice bonus in your horse's two best skills and also help your budget a bit.
