Where do you go to pray that you feel closer to God?

Jesus advises us to avoid churches, he says that if we want other people to notice us then we should pray in church

if we want God to hear us, we should pray silently, actually we should just 'talk' to God

Jesus says, 'go to your room and speak to God privately'

I pray all the time, I never stop, my inner conversation with God keeps me at peace

At my own sweet home where there are my family-members. A complete fool is he who quits his family to find the God. God smiles & says in the thought," Stupid! Quitting Me?"

i go into my bedroom, I close the door and lay face down on the floor and cry out to the lord.

Tell me if I'm wrong but did not the Apostles quit their family to follow Jesus. Or is that just another part of the Bible that you don't have to believe in??
