I was watching a show about tornados recently but they never said what happens to people when they get sucked up. Is there 100's of people floating in outer space or something. Where are they if they dont come down. Do they desinigrate or spontaniously combust.plz help me with this mind bottling question, it bugs me that i cant answer this myself.

  1. They get deposited on the ground far away. Many people survive because the downward trip is slowed by an air updraft. In other words, if you're caught by a tornado, you'd better hope it doesn't suddenly lose steam because if it does, you fall like a rock.

  2. They go to Kansas.

  3. They get thrown onto the ground some distance away.  And if they are lucky they live.

  4. That is hard to determine really.   You could get spit out close to where you were sucked in or miles away.  It just depends on the storm's characteristics.

  5. Oz

  6. They don't tell us these important factors, not because it would scare us, it is because it might hurt somones feelings!!

Did you see the Storm Chasers on Discovery Channel last season? The TIV Mobile got inside of an ef-2 category tornado, and found out that the tormado's eye acts the same way as a hurricane's eye!! The scientific reports. etc; should be out soon, if not already!! Great stuff, eliminates the myth that tornados suck things up within the funnel. The tornados suck up things into the gravitational spinning winds around the funnel, meaning you would/could be picked up by the tornado and thrown off or retained until the tornado slows down/dissipates.

  7. well first off i'm a storm chaser just to let you know and for your question, when people do get wrapped up in a tornado there is so much debre and everything else in it that's it's not even funny, but the tornado does eventually disipates, so that just means that everything in the tornado will get thrown somewhere, normally close to where the tornado passed through. so no they didnt get sucked up in it but more thrown around, whipped around or however you want to put it, then they just get thrown back onto the ground.
