Where do you keep your laptop when using it?

Question

I am debating whether to buy another desk, or to just store it under my bed when not using and put it on the dining table to use it. On my lap my legs get too hot!

When using it I have a lap desk, and I use it on that, with a cooling fan. When not using it I put it in a laptop bag.

I usually have my laptop on my legs, but while its on my legs I dont cover my fan.

You laptop getting to hot might be a problem - I suggest downloading SmartFan so that you can regulate your computers fans to keeps your laptop cool, ortherwise it might overheat and switch off.

When using my laptop i always have it on my custom made cooling table.  I run 4 x 80mm fans that i measured out to cool my GPU, CPU, Hard drives, and motherboard (for a bit of passive cooling)  I shaved off about 10 deg C from my operating temps due to the perfect placement of the fans and the ample room between the cooler and the base of the notebook for proper circulation.

When i'm not using it, i turn it off and put it in my Aluminum case so nothing happens to it.
