Where do you live and how have food and fuel prices been affected recently?

I live in Georgia and the fuel is our biggest concern right now.  My husband is truck driver, we own our tractor and trailer and the diesel prices are killing us.  He used to be able to get an advance off his loads and after fueling up each week, eating his meals, etc, he would come home with a few hundred dollars for us to pay on some bill, or go out to eat, etc.  Now...he's doing good to come in with $40-50 each week.  We are getting hit even harder because our insurance on the truck and trailer has risen, cost of tires, repairs, etc.  He's been doing this since the late 70's though, so there's not much out there he could do other than drive a truck and you sure can't make a living driving a company truck.  (He tried that for a long time and realized the only one making any money was the one who owned the truck.)
