I'm a recent college graduate that's trying to decide what the next step is going to be. I've looked here and there for some jobs in different areas and done some research on specific places - mostly big name cities such as NY, Seattle, Miami, and Atlanta.

But I'm curious about other places. Right now I'm in coastal NC - hot weather year round, very humid, no snow, close to several beaches. And I'd like a change.

So -- where are you? What are the cool things about that place and what would a young female have to gain from living there?

  1. Come to Los Angeles!  I was born and raised here and I love it!

PROS -  Sunny dry warm weather ALL year round. You can ski in winter too! Beaches everywhere! Disneyland! Every movie ever made will be showed here!  If you get sick of city life, drive up the coast and try Santa Barbara scenic weekend gettaway!

CONS - definately need a car to chauffer yourself around town.

I recently met 3 females thru work - they are age 22, 24, 27, they are from Chicago, Dayton and Philly.  They all love it here!

  2. I'm closer to Raleigh and I hate it.  As soon as my lease is up, I'm gone.  I've had enough of the mindless Bible-thumping redneck mentality.  Nobody knows how to use a turn signal here either.  NYC is just nasty, stinky and full of rude jerks.  Seattle is cold and rainy.  Miami is hot and rainy, and you had better know Spanish.  Atlanta's insane traffic could rival that of NYC.  Everyplace has problems, it's just a matter of deciding WHICH problems you think you can tolerate.

  3. southeast...good climate but I would prefer deep south..

  4. I'm NOT telling you my exact location (you never know now days), but I live in the south and I LOVE it!

People here are so polite! It's so hot right now though!
