Where do you live in the us or france and which one is your favorite are you french do you live any where.?

I lived in France and US , both for 1,5 years. Personally , I liked France especially Riviera area (Nice, Aix en Provence..) for its beauty, beaches, countryside but I prefer US because everything is quick and efficient there.

I live in rural east Texas outside a little town with a population of 242 people. My house is in the woods surrounded by a forest of oak, pine and dogwood trees. Friends who visit from Europe have said it is like the Garden of Eden.

Anyone who reads my answers here knows I adore Paris and visit very frequently but I choose not to live there.

I considered moving to France about 11 years ago. I actually searched for an apartment and spent considerable time weighing all the factors. My decision was between moving to a rural part of the United States or moving to Paris.

For me the final choice was between quiet contemplation in the countryside or the pleasures of the city and so this was a very personal decision which does not reflect negatively on any aspect of living in France. While I could have chosen to live in rural France the practical reality was that land and housing is vastly less expensive in rural Texas and taxes are very much lower.

Therefore, by living the simple (and very inexpensive)  life in the country most of the year and I can afford to spend freely on my trips to Paris.

I  suspect that if I lived every day as I do when in Paris (up all night drinking and hanging out with musicians and eating rich food) I would cut years off my life expectancy.
