  7. it's always a good idea to look them in the eye when talking to someone

  8. OK are you serious?? Hello!! EYE CONTACT means EYES (two pairs) MAKING CONTACT!!!!

  9. Is this a trick question...like asking...

How much dirt is there in a hole measuring one yard by one yard by one yard?

    or

Name the most recent year in which New Year's preceded Christmas?

    Well, maybe you ARE serious...

When I make eye contact with someone, I first of all look in the general direction of their eyes but then, I start to zero in on their Cornea and as I continue to delve deeper, I quickly find the Iris and eventually I end up concentrating on their Retina where, at this point, there is NO doubt whatsoever that eye contact has been made...mission accomplished.

  10. In a person's eyes.

  11. Um like in the eyes.................?

  12. You want to look at their right eye.  This gives the appearance that you are actively listening and engaging them.

If you look at their left eye, it gives the appearance that your not really focusing on what their saying and looking behind them or at something else.

It's okay to break eye contact (you don't want to stare them down, if give the appearance of being aggressive or above them).

Personally, I tend to go from their eyes to their lips, back and forth.   (I'm hard of hearing and read lips)  :)
