Where do you read off/or download books legally?

i want to read some books (rrrrromnace, mystery, comedy etc) during my holidays! please recommend a good site if you know one!

If an author posts his book on his website, it is legal to download. If someone else posts it, it is most likely illegal. There are book pirates that scan books and put them online. That cheats authors out of their royalties for those could have been sales. If you can't afford the book, use the public library.

Some authors will give books away for free but not many.

I don't know if it's illegal to download there because I already downloaded many books from there.
