Last nights game between Mexico and Honduras was a close one, for a minute there i thought Honduras was going to take it, I think Temoc saved the day though. I thought Mexico was going to bury them, but wasn't the case. At least we still won thought, a win is a win.

In the USA vs.Guatemala game the referees were horrible and the field including the lights sucked, but Guatemala still gave USA a hard time and Eddie Lewis got opened up from tthat collision. Guatemala had about five or six close ones.

Do you think in ten years teams like Guatemala and Honduras and Jamaica and all those teams like that will be a big threat to the current top dogs of CONCACAF?

  1. in 10 yrs the USA will be a powerful worldclass team.Mexico will still be where they are at now.

Canada will be a world cup team also.

    Honduras has major potential.

Costa Rica will fall behind Canada and Honduras.

in 10 yrs Mexico and the US will struggle in qualifiers but will still continue to reach the world cups as top seeds.

if theres any nation that can truly challenge US and Mexico.

its Canada.in 10 yrs Canada will be no joke.Canada has very strong resources and they are starting to become passionate about the game.

look at TFC.the support is unbelievable.

  2. I think your slowly seeing the progression of the game in CONCACAF....15 years ago.....Mexico was truly the only top dog in the Region....but other nations have emerged and will continue to emerge. I saw last night that the level of competition is on the rise and as time goes on, there are going to be less Gimme (or easy games) for any of the nations in that specific region.

The same thing is occurring in CONMEBOL......people always associate South America to be dominated by Argentina and Brasil....which is not the case now. No game is a guarantee victory for anyone, even against the current poorest team, Bolivia, who have the altitude advantage playing at 12000 feet above sea level.

I actually like the level of competition because on any given day, one nation can beat the other (my home country beating Argentina not long ago in qualifying is an example).....

The rise of competition is a good thing because it makes qualifying to the world cup even more special

  3. I still believe that the USA and Mexico will be the main players, if not the USA more so, because soccer is developing at an extreme rate over here, and the quality is increasing, with even more players being exported to Europe.

  4. in ten years the top dogs will be

    Mexico

    USA

    Jamaica

    Guatemala

    Honduras

  5. I think their level is going to improve, but so are the "top dogs". Its not like theres a cap. If one of these aspiring teams starts with a tremendous youth program, theyll be able to contend 10 yrs from now

  6. yes, ten years frim now those teams will improve but it wont be by much. just a little

honduras is a good team and nobody should be suprised on how good they are.

playing on the road with those conditions is difficult, get a team like guatemala here in the states and they would get crushed by a good 3 goals.

US did good as this is their first win against guatemala in wcq

  7. It's growing but no matter what Mexico will always be #1!

  8. davie drako you are wrong mexico will continue to dominate the region until the world ends okay?
