Where do you take electronic items for recycle and what do they do with them?

Cell phones, computers, worn out gaming systems, etc....are they refurbished or used for certain parts....are the plastics able to be recycled?

  1. many towns and cities have drop off locations at their DPW's and from there they are taken to regional collection centers to be (most likely) shipped over seas to be dismantled and recycled. Oh most charge a fee for Computer monitors($10) and TV's(sometimes as high as $20-50)  because of the cathode ray tube(CRT) also some towns pick them up from your  door during bulk collection days! hope this helps!! for more info look up electronic recyclers in fresno, CA they explain the process the best.


  2. contact your local welfare agency office they can direct you were to take computers to be refurbished and them donated to a needy family

    contact your local city office for disposal of other items and they should be able to help you out

  3. check on the site for battery recycle, you should never just throw batteries in the garbage. as in the rest part of the electronic, i'm not really sure. sorry
