Where do you think America's middle class will be in the next 5-6 years?

For the past 8 years our country's problems have been put on the back-burner to further the agenda of the wealthy. Even before 9-11 our economy was starting to tank, and although we crawled out of that recession briefly to fall right back into one our economy is in even worse shape than when shortly after G-dub began his "reign of terror". Of course, for the most part rich people have lost some money, but have not felt the same devastation the middle and low income classes have experienced.

As we spend more money on a war we cannot afford, scramble to stretch budgets not being adjusted for inflation, and watch economy stimulation fail continously what do we have to look forward too?

Provided, we place someone in office that truely wants to help the middle class where do you think we will be after a full term away from Good Ole Boy mentality?

  1. I think the question should be asked were do you see yourself in 5-6 years.

No matter what "Social Class" you belong to you should be planning on cutting back and trying not to waste anything to maintain a good budget.

Everyone has felt the impact of war, high oil prices, and a shrinking economy because of the way the Federal Government is spending our money.

  2. If McCain is elected..the middle class will do just fine.   If Obama is elected  the middle class will be devastated.

  3. The Dems don't want a middle class at all. That's why they push social programs and dependence on the government. They themselves are rich and don't want anyone or any group to rise against them. This means make everyone poor and dependent on you. Then they will have to keep putting you back into office. The "rich" are the ones who hire people. give them jobs and make our economy grow. They aren't evil people trying to ruin the world. They have children, sisters, parents just like everyone else.

  4. With Obama as President, America's working class will be much better off than they are now.

  5. My family is doing OK...since we lost a house in Katrina and many belongings, we are just glad to have a house and a vehicle today..we are paying our bills and have what we NEED...it is better not to know what is to come if you ask me...if we knew we couldn't deal with it...I remember how oblivious we were during the summer of 2005, before August 29th...innocent back then...

  6. We are currently headed for an economic train wreck at warp speed, and congress has their fat grubby hand firmly on the throttle.  OUT THE INCUMBANTS.  Send a message in November. No new terms for congress persons who don't support an all out effort to make America energy independant within the next four years.

  7. well itll be gone soon if the republicans have their way but it night last a little longer if we vote democrat either way the middle class is doomed

  8. Extinct.

It took FDR roughly 100 days to create the middle class in the US.

They proved to be a hardy bunch for it's taken the current administration almost 8 years to bring them to the edge of destruction.

  9. It'll be gone...I suspect to the same place as American freedom, votes that count, etc.

I hate to tell you this, but changing the president isn't going to have any significant impact on what's happening to the middle class in the U.S.  It's not going to have a significant impact on anything really....the whole mess just continues to slide downhill.

The reason is simple.  The rulers of this country stopped serving us a long time ago.  They serve corporate interests, and if there just happens to be a benefit for "we, the people" in that service to the bloated military-industrial complex, it's purely incidental.

This is the damage of thinking in terms of republican vs. democrat, conservative vs. liberal.  They're just two brands offered by the same company.

No one is going to change anything anytime soon.

Get used to it, because we all allowed this to happen.

Oh, yeah, Have a nice day.
